Roberto H. Tellez Vizcaino
Currently a PhD candidate in Applied Geosciences at IPICYT (Mexico) specializing in igneous petrology and volcanic geochemistry of young volcanic systems, with a primary focus on cean-island and monogenetic volcanism.
My doctoral research reconstructs the eruptive and magmatic evolution of the 1952–53 Bárcena monogenetic cone (Isla San Benedicto, Revillagigedo Archipelago) through an integrated approach combining stratigraphy, petrology, geochemistry, and radiogenic isotopes
Expected defense: summer 2026. Seeking postdoctoral opportunities (Aug 2026) in volcanic petrology/geochemistry, ocean-island volcanism, and/or analytical geochemistry.
Research focus
- Ocean-island and monogenetic volcanism
- Magma evolution and eruptive processes
- Integrated analytical geochemistry (XRF, ICP-MS, EPMA, SEM, TIMS Sr–Nd–Pb)
